Follow these DTF heat press instructions carefully to ensure proper adhesion, vibrant color, and long-lasting durability of your transfers. Incorrect temperature, pressure, or timing may affect final results.

Recommended Heat Press Settings

  • Temperature: 300–310°F (149–154°C)

  • Pressure: Medium to firm pressure

  • Press Time: 8–10 seconds

  • Peel: Cold peel (allow transfer to cool completely before peeling)

⚠️ Important: Do NOT press the color ribbon or registration strip that may appear along the edge of the DTF roll. This area is not designed to transfer and will not adhere to garments.

Step-by-Step Pressing Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Garment

  • Ensure the garment is clean, dry, and wrinkle-free

  • Pre-press the garment for 2–3 seconds to remove moisture and smooth the surface

Step 2: Position the Transfer

  • Place the DTF transfer ink-side down on the garment

  • Align artwork in the desired position

  • Use heat-resistant tape if needed to prevent shifting

Step 3: First Press

  • Press at 300–310°F

  • Apply firm pressure

  • Press for 8–10 seconds

Step 4: Cold Peel

  • Allow the transfer to cool fully

  • Peel the film slowly and evenly

  • If any portion lifts, lay film back down and re-press for 2–3 seconds

Step 5: Final Press (Recommended)

  • Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet

  • Press again for 5–7 seconds

  • This step improves durability, stretch, and finish

After-Press Garment Care

To maintain print quality:

  • Wait 24 hours before washing

  • Wash garments inside out

  • Use cold water only

  • Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry

  • Do not iron directly on the design

  • Do not dry clean

Compatible Fabrics

Our DTF transfers work well on:

  • 100% cotton

  • Polyester

  • Cotton/poly blends

  • Performance and athletic fabrics

Common Pressing Issues & Fixes

Design lifting after peel

  • Increase pressure slightly

  • Ensure cold peel is fully cooled

Design looks dull

  • Confirm correct temperature

  • Perform final press with parchment

Edges lifting

  • Add a short re-press with firm pressure
